I offer individual therapy sessions to adults who resonate with the following challenges:

Family of Origin

  • You are an emotional caretaker for a parent. Maybe you are “close,” but when you confide in them, it becomes about them and not about you, and you feel like they can’t actually handle what is going on for you.

  • You worry about sharing your challenges with your parent because, historically, they overreact or criticize.

  • You feel like you don’t deserve to struggle because your ancestors had it worse.

Cultural Identity

  • You grew up in a predominately white neighborhood and/or school and felt shame and alienation of being different from your peers.

  • You continue to struggle to feel that you are “Black enough.”

  • You feel burdened by other people’s ideas of how you should present as a queer person.

  • You are in an interracial relationship navigating cultural difference and impact this has on your identity.

Sexual Relationships

  • You aware that you are compromising to the degree that you are no longer clear on what you want.

  • Intrusive and painful memories hinder your ability to enjoy intimacy.

  • You’re holding back in expressing your wishes for the care and consideration that you deserve.

Workplace

  • You are competent, intelligent, and you earned your place yet you feel like a “token” as the face of workplace diversity.

  • You are tired of educating management and colleagues about diversity and neither seeing change nor additional compensation.

  • You are afraid of speaking up for yourself for fear of revealing too much and opening the floodgates.

  • You stew in your rage and pain and feel that this is changing the core of who you are.

Friendships

  • You wish for deeper, more meaningful friendships where there is mutual support.

  • You care about your friends and want to develop boundaries in how much you invest in others.

  • You have solid, supportive, loving friendships and need an impartial, new, and professional perspective.

You wish to develop:

  • Compassion

  • Acceptance

  • Coping Skills

  • Awareness

  • Connection

  • Authenticity
